☆ Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 cup of cold butter (1 stick)
  • 6 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 10-11 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips (use 1/2 a bag for fewer chips)
  • 1/4 cup of optional walnut pieces

☆ Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
Line your baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, and baking soda.
Cut the cold butter into smaller pieces.
In a larger mixing bowl, combine the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
Gently stir the dry ingredients (flour, cornstarch, salt, etc.) into the larger bowl with the butter/egg/sugar mixture.
Add in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and optional walnut pieces. Mix gently until fully combined.
Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of cookie dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 6-7 minutes or until the tops of the cookies turn golden brown (keep an eye on them as baking times may vary).
Remove from the oven and allow them to cool; they will continue to cook slightly on the inside as they cool.
For the softest cookies, enjoy them while they are still warm, not completely cooled.
Enjoy your freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!
