Preparing apple compote without sugar

★Ingredients

Fresh apples (Fuji, Granny Smith, or any variety suitable for cooking)

Water

Optional: cinnamon, nutmeg, or vanilla essence

★Instructions

Prepare the Apples

Wash, core, and optionally peel the apples.

Slice into uniform chunks.

Cook the Apples

Place slices in a pot with just enough water to cover the bottom (about ½ inch).

Add optional flavorings if desired.

Simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and saucy.

Cool and Store

Allow the compote to cool before transferring to airtight jars.

Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for several months.

Serving Ideas

Use as a topping for pancakes, yogurt, or cereal.

Incorporate into baked goods or enjoy on its own.
