Italian Pastries Stuffed with Meat and Cheese

★Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound of sliced ham
  • 1/2 pound of sliced salami
  • 1 package of refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)
  • 1/2 cup of sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 pound of sliced provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup of roasted red peppers, drained and sliced
  • 1/2 cup of cooked and crumbled Italian sausage (optional for extra meatiness)
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • Optional: fresh basil or parsley for garnish
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

★Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven* Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Dough* Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle.
  3. Layer Ingredients* Arrange a layer of ham, salami, provolone cheese, pepperoni, and cooked sausage (if using) evenly over half of the dough. Top with roasted red peppers and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  4. Roll and Slice* Carefully roll the dough over the filling, starting from the long edge to create a log shape. Pinch the edges to seal the roll. Slice the roll into 1-inch pieces.
  5. Prepare for Baking* Place the slices cut-side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake* Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish and Serve* Let the pastries cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
